As the saying goes, not everyone has great talent; but a great talent can come from anywhere. That is exactly what we have experienced in the Hackathon Industry 4.0 powered by Endesa and Ferrovial, last October 1st. Over 35 talented engineers, working in teams, searching for innovative solutions and competing for amazing prices shared 36 hours of intense work.  Two incredible and exciting days of competition that took place in Area 31 at IE Business School, Madrid. fundamental base crowdsourcing From the beginning, it was a great opportunity for the competitors and for our team to learn about challenges related to drones, robotics, IoT, and 3D printing, that big companies like Endesa and Ferrovial are facing nowadays. For Ennomotive, the first Hackathon Industry 4.0 in Europe was a very rewarding experience because it allowed us to learn about different kind of professional and students from many parts of the world. The best feeling for us was to reward the youngest team in the hackathon, Wire Runner, with the first prize in the competition. It was a privilege to witness how every team used the new technologies for developing solutions for different issues, aiming to increase productivity and speed up processes. Implementing all the technology at hand, they built demo models for the jury to decide which project was the best of the hackathon. Three engineering students and a senior professional came up with a solution with a great innovative feature as well as feasible and practical. Their combined efforts facilitated the victory for this team, which proves that different ideas and sources of talent can be the key to the best engineering solutions, the fundamental base of crowdsourcing.
